A BICYCLE spray-painted bright orange and chained to a pole caught my eye at the local mall. I quickly realized there were several similarly sprayed bicycles nearby. A salesclerk helped me unravel the mystery. Turns out a fitness center called Orangetheory opened up at Peninsula Village Mall recently and the once discarded bikes became perfect sculptures to draw attention.

O, this is the cutest thing. Makes me want to find a bike, spray it, fill the basket with flowers and park by my fence....:)
ReplyDeleteGreat entry for ORANGE YOU GLAD....
please swing by and see my orange (which is a whole lot duller than your great oranges...:)
Very striking in orange♪ http://lauriekazmierczak.com/bumblebee-5/
ReplyDeleteThose are great in nice shades of orange.
ReplyDeleteGreat captures/posts for OYGIF. I just wish the painters had taken the trouble to be a little more discriminating about where they sprayed the paint. I think it would have looked classier had they chosen fewer sites to turn orange.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for joining last week's link up. One of the orange bikes will be featured on OYGIF this weekend. Hope you could drop by.
ReplyDeleteA pefect orange post. And what a great marketing idea
ReplyDeleteWhat a good idea! The discarded bicycles got the second life. I like the way how they are displayed and your framing of the images. I don’t know why I missed this post but excuse me for this late visit.

Clever advertising!
ReplyDeleteThat's very clever marketing. I love orange also...
ReplyDeleteWhat's it like now that Koco's is gone? Have the townhouses gone up yet?
Jen
Oh my! How perfect! And, you did an amazing job with those captures. Don't you just want to jump on one of those bikes and ride off into the sunset? :)
ReplyDeleteYes indeed Jen, townhouses have gone up since Koco is no more ... and with a Wired Monk underneath.
ReplyDeleteCarol, I would love to ride off into the sunset as long as it is not uphill. :)
