Unwrapping A Message From The Original Fisherman

SOME FOLKS go fishing to relax like this fellow. His slow boat to nowhere is at the entrance of Crescent Beach.

Others find the rhythm of rowing, not fishing, is a good way to clear thoughts.

Paddlers don't stop paddling when it's blustery and I don't stop walking.

The December wind refreshes my face as I head for my favorite Boundary Bay destinations. The tides are particularly high this season. Normally surrounded by beach sand, this bench has seawater lapping at its planks. I don't sit but stop to marvel and meditate at this spot where there is so much wonder.

I often see sandpipers here and ducks wearing feathery symetrical fashions.

When the water bounces and bobs ...

seaweed is pushed to the shore in beautiful chaotic tumbles.

Christmas decorations are unwrapped and displayed in the neighborhood.

These crisp apples clinging to branches (below) are nature's decore.

Wherever I turn there are endearing signs that the special day is near.

Nativity scenes of the original "fisher of men" are scarce but His message of PEACE ON EARTH hangs firmly in the air and is needed now more than ever.

  3. A beautiful seasonal post ... Perfect message and of course the pictures and your words evoke the kind of Pacific Northwest Christmas weather we enjoyed (?!?) for many years. Merry Christmas and thank you for the lovely pictures and words, as always! (And for the memories... I do miss the Northwest at this season).

  7. Thank you for braving such blustery weather to show us the beauty in the kind of nature's chaos. I like the bouncing and bobbing water and the tangled seaweed. Thank you, Maria, for the interesting posts throughout the year and I’ve enjoyed to see you interpretation of my post. Wish you a heart-warming Christmas and a healthy and peaceful New Year. See you in 2016.
