Sitting On A Cloud

THE WOODEN chairs with red cushions drift up as if by magic to the transforming clouds reflected in both the front and background glass. The sky, tinted windows and cloud-shaped couch on the other side are a collection of fact and fantasy that create confusion for the birds and me. I walk by this two-story house with a patio often and am always delighted by the illusions I see.

Orange Cat Does A Balancing Act

FREE to roam and hunt along Crescent Beach shores and marshlands this lucky cat is at home wherever it goes. Fleet of foot, (with nine lives according to the myth), it straddles country fences with the agility of a tightrope walker.

No fence or boundary can stop this feline from its wandering ways, although there is likely a house with a porch waiting ... as well as some warm milk and a friendly cuddle at the end of the day. On my walks, I see philandering housecats, balancing the ecosystem perhaps while keeping small mice and birds at bay.

Bulrush Shadows Hidden In The Shrubbery

DO YOU SEE the inky black shadow on the furry brown coat of a bulrush (left) from another bulrush standing next to it? There are trillions of shadows bobbing and weaving in pockets of underbrush when touched by the noonday sun that go largely unnoticed in the shrubbery.

To heighten shadow awareness, I am linking to Shadow Shot Sunday.
