DANCING reflections in a pond by a rushing stream sends a message. The brightly painted fence I photographed recently at the local cemetery acts as a safety barrier, a metaphor, and my reason for linking to GOOD FENCES.
Perhaps those who continue to live inside our heads and hearts after passing away also dwell like flickers of light in some eternal realm.
Although no one can climb over from here to there until the time is right, the timing was decidedly wrong when a family friend in her early twenties lost her life to Cystic Fibrosis several years ago. I visited her gravesite on the day she should have been celebrating her birthday.
We seem so close yet so far away. "Life and death are one thread, the same line viewed from different sides," according to the long departed philosopher Lao Tzu who speaks to us today from beyond the grave.
