WIND RUFFLED some feathers on Saturday. Although the southwest of BC has mild winters in contrast to the rest of Canada, weather surprises give us something to talk about. It can change daily from relatively warm and soggy to blustery and bitterly cold.
An unexpected chill turned muddy puddles into crunchy pockets of cracked ice. Flurries of wet snow were predicted for Sunday but (as I write this) have yet to appear.

Love the cracked ice and bird shot.
ReplyDeleteFantastic shot of the magnificent bird and now I know what makes the crunchy pockets of cracked ice. We've been having them and I wasn't sure what was behind ice looking like that.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots, and I remember icy cracked puddles...you certainly don't see them up here lol.

Wow! Nice photos! I especially like the wind-ruffled eagle.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot of the eagle. Cool images! Have a happy week!
ReplyDeleteWow - that first shot is magnificent!
ReplyDeleteNeat photo of the eagle. I have to admit that I enjoy the crunching sound of thin ice over shallow puddles. ;))

Nice shots of how the weather affect nature! The second image looks like cracked sugarcoating on the chocolate cake. This winter season seems to be the record coldest in most part, but “unexpected” or sudden change of weather seems to be happening often. After a few days of unexpected April-like warmth, the cold came back with a vengeance.
ReplyDeleteLovely Pacific Northwest winter scenes -- I remember winters like that.
